Since December 2020 until February 2022, a COVID-19 surveillance was implemented in Manhiça District Hospital,where, every suspected cases of COVID-19 (person with similar symptoms of COVID-19) resident in Manhiça district, was invited to participate in the study. After signing the consent form and answer the study questionnaire, the person would take a nasopharyngeal swab sample to test for active infection of SARS-CoV-2 by RT-qPCR.
This graph represent the evolution of recruitment and positivity rate during the period of the study COVID-19 surveillance, in Manhiça District Hospital, following exactly the same tendency of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th waves in Mozambique.
